Club Range Safety Rules

GUN SAFETY RULES FOR SPORTSMAN’S CLUB MEMBERS

1.     ALWAYS treat your firearm as if it is loaded

2.     ALWAYS point your firearm down range

3.     ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot

4.     ALWAYS be aware of your target and what is beyond it

GUN RANGE REQUIREMENTS AT GUN CRAFT RANGE

FOR SPORTSMAN’S CLUB MEMBERS

1.     Always sign in at the office before going onto the range.

2.     ALWAYS wear eye and ear protection

3.     NO uncased firearms outside of your shooting lane, firearms should not be uncased until the range is made hot and not be carried from one shooting position to another at any time unless cased.

4.     DO NOT load your firearm outside of your shooting lane

5.     DO NOT reach beyond the firing line

6.     DO NOT draw from a holster and fire

7.     NO low-cut shirts; or open toe sandals, wear appropriate attire  - shirt to base of neck and enclosed shoes, to shield from hot shell casings.

8.     NO targets, with real life images of people.

9.     Always use both Red Flags when the range goes Hot and take them down when the range goes cold.  Person handling the Flags should call out the status of the range when handling the Flags to insure that all  People on the range understand as to whether the range is Hot or Cold.

10.When making the Range Hot the person putting up the Red Flags should insure that no one is out in front of the shooting bench.

11.When the range goes cold firearms should be unloaded with breeches open and pointing down range with empty chamber indicators inserted.

12.Replace target stand on Firing line and sweep up expended brass from concrete before leaving.

13.Remove used paper targets and return target to range officer when leaving.
